The cry room is located in the back (south-west corner) of the church building. The reason we call it a Cry Room and not a Nursery is because, in the Orthodox Church we prefer to raise children up in the context of the Divine Liturgy. Therefore, when a child is having a melt-down, or if a diaper needs to be changed, or some other task that needs to be tended to, the Cry Room is there to address those temporary needs. After such an issue is dealt with, we encourage the child and parent to rejoin us in the Divine Liturgy. We believe that it’s important to slowly teach our children how to be a part of the Liturgy (the worshipful offering of the people).
